A brand's website is equal to its social media

The number of potential customers who view your social media channels before your website is growing by the day. If they scroll past your post, you can be sure they’re not clicking through to your website. This means that we need to put as much value on your social profiles as you do your website. Think about how many meetings you had and how much thought was put into your website. Are you giving equal value to your social channels? If not, it’s never too late to start!

Here are three things you can do today to get your social profile up to speed:

  1. Fix the bio. This is just like the header of your website. You want your audience to know within the first 3 seconds what exactly you do and how you might help them solve a problem.

  2. Be intentional. Starting today, every post should contribute to your brand’s identity and direct them to ultimately do business with you. Making sure that the voice and tone are consistent across all platforms and your website is extremely important for brand continuity.

  3. Plan. An easy way to make sure you’re accomplishing "being intentional” is to plan your posts in advance. If you have the time, I like to plan a month in advance. But a week in advance works just as well. This gives you time to think through what you need to say and how you’d like to say it.
