There’s an App (or 12) for that: which marketing apps should your team be using?

In a world with seemingly endless amounts of apps, it’s hard to determine which ones are actually useful and which ones will just make you angry and/or sad. But to help you along your app journey, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite marketing apps to share with you so you can do what you do best -- with a little extra help.

Facebook Business Suite

Or is it Meta? Either way, this app is a great and necessary tool for managing some of your company’s Facebook account, along with any accounts you may manage for clients. You can create and schedule new Facebook posts, share updates, respond to comments, and manage private messages all in one place, which is especially convenient for busy marketing companies. You can also connect Business Suite to Instagram accounts, meaning you can post once for twice the impact. We like.

Canva

As much as we all may dream of being a famous artist, graphic design may just not be your top skill -- and that’s okay. You can join everyone using Canva, which is a graphic design app that allows you to create professional images and videos, even if you don’t know a JPEG from your favorite GIF. The basic Canva package is free, so you can explore the app for a while before deciding if you want to upgrade to a paid version.

Hootsuite

Has Facebook done you wrong? We understand. That’s why we’re also thankful for apps like Hootsuite, which also allow you to manage multiple accounts from one place. Hootsuite gets bonus points for being able to post on additional platforms like LinkedIn, which allows you to craft multiple posts at once and free up your time for more important things, like running a business.

Grammarly

Okay, this one isn’t technically marketing-related. But we firmly believe good grammar is always important -- especially when sending an email campaign or creating a new Instagram post. Grammarly is designed to catch common grammar mistakes (you’re vs your, anyone?) as well as give suggestions on improving the content of your message. Getting your team to use this app will help you show your clients exactly why they made the right choice in hiring you.

Slack

Again, this one is not just for marketing. But the Murphy Marketing team utilizes Slack on a daily basis to facilitate better communication and update the team on important changes or F.Y.I.s. You can send private messages to another team member, create specific channels to separate internal communication from critical client updates, and foster group discussions to help you make company-wide decisions. You can use the Slack app on both your phone and your laptop, so you are always able to receive the latest from your team (don’t worry; notifications can be silenced when you are done for the day!). We’re no slackers when it comes to Slack, and we want to share the good news far and wide.

Google Analytics

You already know that even the best marketing plan won’t be useful for your business unless you can track the results and see how successful your plan is. Using apps like Google Analytics is a great way to keep your finger on the pulse of your company’s strengths and weaknesses. It also gives you concrete insights to show you how effective your marketing is through detailed information on website traffic, SEO data, and where the majority of your audience comes from.

We know this list can’t cover everything, so we want to hear from you. What are your go-to marketing apps? Give us your app tips and tricks -- and give us a call if you want to know more about how the right marketing strategy can change your company’s story.
