Give Thanks to Your Clients This November!

We love what we do. But we couldn’t do it without our clients. Not only do they give us the opportunity to tell their stories, but they also provide us with the chance to learn something and meet new people on a regular basis. We like that. So, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, we want to pass on a few ideas on ways you can show gratitude to your clients near and far. Ready? Let’s go: 

Say thank you

This seems very simple, and you might be wondering if we’ve finally lost our minds. But never fear -- we are as sane as always. The truth is that many of us forget to say thank you all the time, whether it’s to acknowledge a neighbor lending a helping hand or showing gratitude to the person who serves your favorite meal. A little “thank you” can go a long way -- and many of your clients probably feel the same way. 

So, this week, take some time to say thank you to your clients. It can be a handwritten card, a thoughtfully crafted email -- you can even write it in the sky if you know the right people. Just the small act of saying thanks will show your clients how much you appreciate them and how much excitement and joy they bring to your job. 

Shout it out

Marketers have the rare opportunity to work with literally every other field available. You might be writing a blog designed to reach traveling carnival workers, creating social content for a CPA or drafting an email campaign for your local aquarium -- the possibilities are endless. And that means you have the chance to tell others about the goods or services your clients provide. If you think others should know about the client who offers the best doggy daycare in town, go ahead and tag them in a post or leave a comment on their page. 

This can be tricky, because you might have hundreds of clients, so you cannot possibly tag them all in a week, let alone for one holiday. But you can still say thank you, even if it isn’t Thanksgiving. You can even say thank you in the spring. Just keep a running list of clients you have mentioned so far, and try to give everyone a shoutout during the year. 

Show your love with diamonds

Okay, diamonds might be taking things a little too far. But sending even a small gift to your clients is a great way to say thank you to a client. This could be some company swag, something decorative or just something you think is fun. Keep in mind that if you have a lot of clients, you will need to budget for these gifts accordingly -- and it’s okay if you don’t spend tons of money on each gift. It truly is the thought that counts.

Much like the shoutouts above, gift giving doesn’t have to be limited to the holiday season. If you want to spread out your budget or gifts, you can send a little something anytime during the year. Just remember to make a list of who has received what so you don’t leave anyone out.
