Best Partners for Branding and Graphic Design

Nothing’s more spooky than outdated branding and graphics. I know it can be hard to know right off the bat who you should go to for a refresh on your brand or extra support with your collateral. Many people spend hours looking up different companies and contractors, trying to find that perfect fit.

I’ve worked with lots of brands on their design and have collected quite the list of partners. No trick here, just treating you all to a vetted list of our trusted designers. We’ll highlight each below. If you are looking for branding or design help, check out their bios and the links to their featured work to see what speaks to you!

When I work with clients I recommend they look at the following when evaluating a designer:

What style does the designer seem to naturally lean towards? Am I drawn to it?

Chances are, they are highlighting the work on their pages because it’s some of their best designs that they are the most proud of. It means they may also be the most comfortable creating work similar to that style.

Does the designer’s about page or homepage align with my vision for a partner?

Ideally, you can tell a little something about a business through their website. Are you vibing with what they’re putting out there? Is there any other information you wish you could see? When you reach out to them, do they respond? How do they respond? Are they quick to get back to you or do they tell you how long to expect? Or are you in the dark feeling ghosted for a week or more? Are testimonials and reviews available to see on Google and their website? How do their customers talk about them?

Is the designer invested in me?

A good designer will make an effort to get to know you and your brand before diving in. It might be a red flag if they offer to take up the project with minimal interaction with you or your team. Expect to meet with a designer at least once or twice, before contracting and at the start of the project to discuss your company, needs, and vision. This will give you a feel of if the designer is a good fit AND give the designer a feel if the project is right for them as well.

Does the designer understand my customer?

You should be sure to have intentional conversations around your target market and ideal customer with your designer from the start. Ask if they have ideas or insights into the consumer base or if they have worked on design for a similar demographic before. Why is this important when it’s your design? Because it’s not 100% a reflection of you, it’s not a place you have to live. It’s your storefront and your designs should be focused on drawing your ideal customer in.

If a designer is able to communicate or understand this, that’s a good sign!

What is the scope?

Do they have an offering within your budget? Does their availability line up with your ideal timeline? Can your timeline be flexible if not? What do they include in their deliverables? You should be asking questions about what file types are going to be delivered, if there are any restrictions on use or alterations, and how many revisions are allowed before extra charge may be incurred. Evaluate their cost, timeline, and offering and decide what works best for your needs.
